Sangha Market

About Us

The inspiration for the Sangha Market grew out of two practice opportunities. The first was the Living Beyond Karma e-mail class in which folks were encouraged to experience life through the acknowledgment of abundance and gratitude, rather than karmic conditioning's lens of deprivation and dissatisfaction. Participants were encouraged to choose something they'd always wanted to do but had been talked out of doing by conditioning, and to turn this project into something that would generate income to pay for the e-mail class, enable a donation to the Zen Monastery Peace Center and leave a little (or a lot) for themselves. The second opportunity came in the form of the global economic downturn that made finding alternative sources of income a necessity for many folks.

How does it work? On this classified website, items are sold for a fixed price. Sellers offer products and services for a price they determine, a minimum of 20% of which will be donated to Living Compassion.

The details: The seller posts a product, giving details including price, quantity, payment instructions, and any other information a buyer would need to make a purchase. When the buyer agrees to the terms, the buyer contacts the seller directly through email and arrangements are made for the purchase. The seller then ships the item to the buyer. At the end of the purchase, the seller makes the pledged donation to Living Compassion. The seller will receive a thank-you email from Living Compassion which is also a receipt for the seller's donation.

This is an honor-system-as-ye-sew-so-shall-ye-reap-karma-acknowledging affair. No one will be policing the interactions. We are going to proceed as if we are all honorable people operating from integrity. If something seems not quite on the up-and-up to you, send us an email at support@sanghamarket.com.

This site is for Sangha, and as such we ask that you abide by the same level of “privileged environment” you would abide by anywhere else in practice. We are not here to socialize or interact on a personal level. Please approach these interactions exactly as you would approach a retreat or workshop—with kindness, attention, and respect for the privacy and confidentiality of your fellow practitioners.

In lovingkindness,

Cheri
